NAVIGATING the cost-of-living crisis will be in the spotlight at the launch of a series of exciting public lectures at University of the West of Scotland (UWS) next week.

Dr Enkeleda Lulaj, an Assistant Professor and finance expert at Kosovo’s Haxhi Zeka University, will draw from extensive research, to provide insight on ways of lessening the burden of spiralling costs and inflation.

She will also argue for better education to be provided on dealing with finances – to ensure that people are equipped with knowledge and skills relating to credit and debt management.

Dr Lulaj said: “I’m delighted to be opening the series for the new academic year, with a seminar that I hope will prove both informative and helpful.”

The talk, on Wednesday 14 September, is the first event in the 2022/23 Research Seminar Series, delivered by the Business School arm of the highly regarded School of Business and Creative Industries at UWS.

The Series – which is free to attend – will take a research-informed look at topical issues, providing knowledge and advice to businesses and individuals.

Dr Lulaj added: “With the threat of a recession on the horizon, financial education planning – the combination of credit, financial, and debt management skills that are necessary for making informed financial decisions – is more important than ever.

“I will explore this subject from both an individual and general perspective.”

Series facilitator, Dr Christian Harrison, added: “As we enter the second year of the UWS Business Research Seminar Series, I am acutely aware that the expertise we are able to provide is more important than ever.”

“While we will be exploring a range of topics throughout the Series, there will be a particular focus on the cost-of-living crisis, as we look to provide insight that may be of benefit to the wider community.”

“Each seminar will be free to attend, and will take place online for the convenience of attendees. They will be delivered by both UWS academics, and internationally respected guests, like Dr Lulaj.”

To attend the seminar, entitled Financial Education Planning and Management: A Necessity for Well-Being and Financial Stability, register for free via Eventbrite
