DUMFRIES and Galloway College has been shortlisted for a prestigious CDN award.

The College Development Network has announced the full shortlist for the awards which recognise the talent, innovation, and achievements of colleges, staff, and their learners.

The South of Scotland college has been nominated in the Sustainability Action Award category for its Leading the way – Net Zero D&G initiative.

The winners will be announced at a celebration in Glasgow on 9 December.

Dumfries and Galloway College is extremely proud of its record on promoting green skills and energy, which includes several initiatives on its campus, its new Green Skills Hub, and its recently published climate change action plan which commits the college to reaching net zero emissions by 2030.

Principal Joanna Campbell said:

“All of us at Dumfries and Galloway College are delighted to have been shortlisted for the CDN awards in such an important category.

“Promoting the environmental agenda and encouraging sustainability are fundamental to everything we do and so it’s wonderful to receive this acknowledgement.

“I look forward to the awards ceremony and wish both our team and everyone else who has been shortlisted all the very best.”
