CMS specialist expands education portfolio as it teams up with Heriot-Watt University

24/05/2023

CMS-specialist, Zengenti, has partnered with Heriot-Watt University, one of the oldest higher education institutions in the UK, expanding its education portfolio.

Its award-winning CMS, Contensis, created by Zengenti, currently powers over 20 higher education institutions’ online platforms, and has now been chosen as the replacement CMS to power Heriot-Watt’s website.

The project will see the website undergo a major refurbishment, replacing its previous system with a cloud-hosted API-first CMS, in an effort to enhance its online experience for its pupils and create a more flexible, user-friendly platform.

Emma Leech, Global Marketing Director at Heriot-Watt said: “We’re excited to be working with Zengenti as our partner for this major transformation project. Their market understanding, wide-ranging expertise and track-record of delivery will be pivotal in allowing us to rethink our global digital presence.”

Heriot-Watt University is recognised as one of Scotland’s most international universities, with five campuses, spanning three countries, and more than 27,000 registered students from over 154 countries.

The University’s website is an important window into its offering, and is home to course details, alumni testimonials and admission information, as well as learning resources, latest news and its international campus pages.

Commenting on the project, Richard Chivers, CEO at Zengenti, said:

“We’re delighted to be working with the Heriot-Watt University team. This is an exciting and evolving period for the education industry, and the latest features of Contensis will continue to support its growth and change.

“Our content-first CMS currently powers a number of other educational institutions, and we’re proud to be expanding our portfolio with such a prestigious establishment as Heriot-Watt.”

Contensis is already providing solutions for leaders in this space who continue to look for innovative ways in which they can adapt to learning practices, hybrid working models and meeting the needs of its digital-savvy students who expect a seamless journey online.

News of its partnership with the University follows Contensis’ recent award win, having been crowned ‘Best Enterprise CMS’ in a prestigious, industry-leading award.
