CALEDONIA Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL), which owns ferries, ports, harbours and infrastructure across the west coast of Scotland, Clyde Estuary and Northern Isles, has appointed Morven Bridges as Head of Engineering.
Fronting CMAL’s engineering team, Morven will oversee the programming and delivery of CMAL’s vast number of engineering projects, leading on the maintenance, improvement and enhancement of CMAL’s port and harbour assets.
Morven joins CMAL with nearly 25 years of civil engineering experience in both private and public service roles. Most recently, Morven was appointed as Principal Engineer for BEAR Scotland in the North West Major Bridges unit, undertaking client duties for maintenance and improvement schemes on trunk road structures, including Kessock Bridge near Inverness.
Prior to her appointment at BEAR, Morven held various civil engineering positions with Forestry and Land Scotland, previously known as Forestry Commission Scotland, over a period of 13 years; from appointment as recreation engineer in 2007, to delivery of civil engineering programmes in Highland, Argyll and Grampian areas, before progressing to lead national civil engineering operations in 2012.
