Clydesdale Housing Association is partnering with Warmworks, an organisation with 10 years of experience in tackling fuel poverty, to deliver a new project that will make homes warmer for tenants in South Lanarkshire.

The Renewable Heat Project with Clydesdale Housing Association will see 101 properties fitted with energy efficiency improvements including air source heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage technology, high heat retention heaters, and HeatSage heating controls technology, with the aim of reducing bills and improving home comfort levels for tenants.

This project has been made possible through £1,283,808 funding from the Scottish Government’s Social Housing Net Zero Heat Fund.

Clydesdale Housing Association owns over 740 properties throughout the Clydesdale area of rural South Lanarkshire.

Warmworks delivers a range of energy efficiency contracts across the UK, aimed at helping people to better manage their energy costs and improve the energy efficiency of their home. It has been the Managing Agent for the Scottish Government’s national fuel poverty scheme, Warmer Homes Scotland, since 2015.

Joe Gorman, Chief Executive of Clydesdale Housing Association, commented:

“At Clydesdale Housing Association, we strive to deliver quality homes and excellent services for all our tenants, today and in the future. This renewable heat project with Warmworks supports our vision; we are improving the wellbeing of our tenants by investing in more efficient homes that will keep them warmer for years to come, as well as reducing their energy costs.”

Paul McGhee, Warmworks’ Managing Director, Local Delivery Division, said:

“Warmworks has extensive experience of partnering with social landlords across Scotland to help them lift their tenants out of fuel poverty and decarbonise their housing stock. We are proud to be partnering with Clydesdale Housing Association to deliver warmer, more energy efficient homes and lower fuel bills for their tenants.”
