Powercases has become the latest Official Supplier to the British Sailing Team – providing athletes and coaches with a range of portable charging options to keep them on the move.

Powercases develops portable power solutions through innovative application of lithium-ion battery technology to a range of products for business and consumers.

Its range of charging options will extend the battery life of the cameras, phones and other devices British Sailing Team coaches use during long hours out on the water analysing sailors’ performances.

Royal Yachting Association (RYA) members already enjoy exclusive discounts across a wide range of Powercases products and the British Sailing Team will benefit from this relationship as they move into the final year of their journey to Tokyo 2020, receiving a percentage of the sales made to RYA members.

Powercases Scotland is the Dundee-based European sales agent for the Canadian Powercases brand which makes portable high-quality power solutions for boats, cars, smartphones, tablets and computers. Its products are designed to deliver high levels of customer service – Powercases batteries hold their charge to 50% for up to six months and offer multiple device capabilities.

In January, Powercases was accepted as a recognised Member Reward Partner by the RYA – offering a range of its products to its more than 110,000 members around the world. In April it began a membership deal with the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC), the largest touring organisation in Europe.

Powercases products are also used for training analysis by GB Snowsport Park and Pipe Freeski Head Coach, Jamie Matthew, who is an official Ambassador for the brand and has coached team members to medals in the Olympics and World Championships.

RYA Director of Racing Ian Walker commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Powercases on-board as an Official Supplier to the British Sailing Team. Their portable charging solutions will be of great benefit to both our athletes and coaches – who spend long hours out on the water training.

“The RYA member benefit means our members will be helping power the British Sailing Team to success when they purchase a Powercases product.”

Peter Waggott, Managing Director of Powercases Scotland, said: “We’re honoured to become an Official Supplier to The British Sailing Team – supporting our world-leading sailors in their push to maintain a phenomenal record of success.

“It’s great to see the benefits the sailors and coaches are getting already from using our products and I look forward to following their progress up to and into the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.”

Great Britain is the world’s most successful Olympic sailing nation – with British sailors topping the tables at four of the last five Olympic Games, including Rio 2016, and emerging as top nation from the 2016 Olympic Classes World Championships and World Cup Series.
