Certified International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum School, Fairview International School, Bridge of Allan, has announced that its tuition fees will remain capped at the school’s current prices until June 2027,  with no plans to add VAT. Earlier this year the school announced a tuition fee freeze, and is now pleased to clarify that this freeze includes the exemption from the upcoming VAT increase of 20% on private school fees, effective January 1, 2025.

Seeking to offer families financial stability when it comes to their child’s education, it is hoped that the school’s commitment to withhold from increasing fees, despite the Government removing the value added tax (VAT) exemption for private schools in the Autumn Budget, will help ensure continued affordability for its parents and enable new families to financially plan for their child’s future education during a time of heightened financial uncertainty.

Fairview’s fixed fee structure implemented earlier this year, has been guaranteed until June 2027, with Fairview announcing that it has no plans to pass on additional VAT to its current and new parents.

Mr. Chian, the Chairman of Fairview International School Group, aims to make top-tier IB education as accessible as possible to all children. He said: “We know that parents are doing all they can to continue supporting their children’s education and development despite the political and financial uncertainty, and we hope this initiative will provide some reassurances for parents looking to plan long-term for their children’s future.”

Headteacher of Fairview International School, Bridge of Allan, Mrs Victoria Gamble, said “We understand the challenges many face with the removal of the value added tax (VAT) exemption for private schools, but we are committed to supporting our families through it and we look forward to continuing to serve our students and families for many years to come.

“We remain focused on expanding and enhancing our provisions, particularly for senior years, and are currently preparing to introduce new mentoring programmes and advanced courses designed to enrich our students’ academic and personal development.”

The school, which offers a holistic learning experience through the world-renowned IB learning framework, is the first in Scotland to offer an uninterrupted continuum through IB education for students aged 5-18 through the delivery of three IB core programmes; Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP).

Offering more than the standard curricula, the IB programmes focus on equipping students with critical thinking skills and an international outlook that prepares them for future success.

Fairview’s personalised approach to learning, coupled with its small class sizes, supports its students to excel on their individual learning journeys by recognising and nourishing individual strengths and talents and supporting students to have confidence in their own abilities.

The school remains committed to supporting families in the local community, with over 80% of its students coming from the surrounding areas. To enhance accessibility, plans are underway to expand the school’s bus services, making it easier for families in the region to benefit from its offerings.

The Bridge of Allan campus is one of a group of six global sister schools located across Southeast Asia and the UK, known to be among the world’s best-performing private schools delivering the IB DP.  Its connection to Fairview International PLC, which was recently listed on the London Stock Exchange, underscores its financial stability and eagerness to support families through its commitment to education.

The group support has enabled the school to absorb upcoming costs, including VAT, allowing Fairview to freeze its tuition fees until June 2027 without passing any additional charges onto parents, demonstrating the school’s dedication to ensuring affordability through its strong financial foundation and readiness to invest in its community.

Admissions are open all year round and Fairview offers personalised visits and non-committal taster days, allowing students to try an IB Education. Scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition fees are available for academic passion, excellence in performing arts, sporting performance, and all-round ability.

Fairview offers a transition package for students currently enrolled in other independent schools who may be interested in moving to an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. The package includes a fee waiver and free transport for the first quarter, helping to ease the transition for new students and their families.

Fairview’s fixed fee structure is published on their website https://www.fairviewinternational.uk/admissions.
