Bellrock Technology is an award-winning cloud software company based in Glasgow, and the Arrochar Alps Challenge is part of the company’s desire to give something back to the local community and those in need.
Ain’t no mountain high enough to stop the intrepid team from Bellrock Technology who have set their sights on conquering three peaks in the Arrochar Alps Challenge on August 24.
Along the way, the climbers – led by CEO Adam Brown – are aiming to raise vital funds for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.
The gallant band certainly have a tough task on their hands. The Arrochar Alps Challenge involves a climb to the summits of Ben Narnain, Ben Ime and the Cobbler (Ben Arthur), covering 11 miles and climbing a total of 6,250 feet.
Among staff members who have already signed up for the challenge is 59-year-old Dave McConachie from Glasgow.
He said: “I saw a social media post from our marketing team and thought this would be a good challenge for a worthwhile cause. Then I saw our CEO was doing this, so I thought I’d better get myself on the tour bus!
“I’ve taken on many challenges over the years. I think it’s important, if you can, to give back and help those fortunate than yourself.
“I’m looking forward to finishing the three peaks in a decent time, but more important will be enjoying the camaraderie of other participants and, of course, raise as much as possible for this very worthwhile charity.
“Over the years, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland has helped people I know, and the services and care make a massive difference in helping people regain their independence and freedom.
“If walking can help educate and alleviate some of the issues, it is a step forward for better health.”
Adam Brown added: “One of our core values as a business is to give back to our communities and to support activities that improve our society.
“The Arrochar Alps Challenge is a simple and fun way for us to help promote and raise funds for a fantastic charity here in Scotland.”
