LUXURY homes developer, PANACEA homes, has opened a new show home to promote sales of its exciting range of exclusive properties at the former St Agatha’s Primary School on Gartshore Road, Kirkintilloch (images attached).

The Primary, an exclusive bespoke 15 home re-development, comprises a luxury sandstone reconversion of the primary school, retaining original features, whilst contemporary styled new build semi and detached homes will take centre stage within the school’s large playground.

The school formerly named Gartconner Public School, was created by the architectural firm Honeyman & Keppie and built in 1897. Created by John Honeyman and John Keppie in 1888, the renowned Charles Rennie Mackintosh joined their practice in April 1889 as a draughtsman and progressed to partner level.

PANACEA homes is renowned for its stunning and unique property developments across Scotland and The Primary is no exception. With luxury at the heart of the development, the homes include carefully crafted kitchens designed with convenience, user friendliness and style in mind.

There are 6 unique homes created by the conversion from the original school building itself, the “Auld Schoolhouse” incorporating the various classrooms, headmaster’s office and sports hall, delivering 2 and 3-bedroom homes. A number of these feature easily maintained front and rear garden spaces or terraces, with the upper-level apartments in particular benefitting from fantastic views of the rolling hills of the Campsies.

These incorporate original features such as vaulted ceilings, timber eaves and the use of original stonework. The aim is to create a beautiful development whilst ensuring respect is paid to the traditional styling of the former school.

There are also a further 9 new build homes in the school playground, comprising 3 and 4-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes. Created using a sharp design, with a mix of tumbled brick, sleek modern rendering and contemporary roof tiling, these properties make a unique design statement in the Kirkintilloch area.

State of the art integrated Bosch & Siemens appliances further enhance the high-quality  development, and the bathrooms/en-suites are fitted out with beautiful luxury tiling and sanitaryware from the iconic Porcelanosa brand.

Each new home boasts the highest level of energy efficiency, with modern heating and insulation. Roof fitted solar panels also contribute to the high energy efficiency benefit of the new build homes.

Both the conversions and the new builds have ample allocated and visitor parking with spacious entry ways to the properties.

The Primary boasts great transport links, including a sub-10 mile commute to Glasgow City Centre via the M80, and within easy reach of the substantial Merkland Nature Reserve. The Primary is in an ideal location for those seeking quick access to the countryside, but within easy reach of superb local amenities including excellent schools, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, retail outlets, a superb leisure centre and swimming baths, and the fantastic Southbank Marina.
