AYRESHIRE based independent bar and restaurant operators Buzzworks Holdings is raising a glass in celebration after being shortlisted for two categories at the 2020 CIS Excellence Awards.

The awards, which should have taken place at the end of May last year but were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reopened for entries in the summer after the current health crisis interrupted the nominations process in March 2020.

Having built an enviable reputation throughout Ayrshire and beyond for excellent food and customer service, Buzzworks Holdings is also well known for supporting the communities it operates in and placing an emphasis on its team wellbeing – both of which have been recognised in their CIS Excellence Award nominations.

The hospitality group’s commitment to keeping their team informed and engaged, whilst providing a programme of fun activities focused on health and wellbeing throughout the various lockdowns over the past year, has seen the Ayrshire business shortlisted for both the Employee Engagement and Support Award, alongside the Well-being in Hospitality Award.

Kenny Blair, Buzzworks Holdings MD, said: “It has been a challenging year for both the hospitality industry and businesses in general, however as a people business we have gone to great lengths to not only ensure our team all still felt connected to Buzzworks during lockdown, but provide support to those keen to make a difference within the local communities where we operate.

“Being shortlisted for two prestigious CIS Excellence Awards recognises the hard work and dedication that has gone on over the past year to provide a positive working environment for our team, even when our venues have been closed.

“At a time when there is not a great amount to celebrate for the hospitality business, I wish everyone the best of luck for the CIS Excellence Awards.”

Due to current lockdown restrictions, the organisers have been unable to commit to a traditional awards event at this current time, but have a plan of action in place to announce the winners and celebrate the best of Scottish hospitality once the present period of lock-down is lifted.
