SCOTTISH housebuilder Avant Homes is set to bring 252 homes to a prime location on the outskirts of East Kilbride after successfully purchasing land in the highly desirable Jackton suburb.
Planning for the new £68.8m development, located on Jackton Road, was granted in February by South Lanarkshire Council. Now, following the completion of the land acquisition build preparation works are set to commence later in 2020.
Once complete, the 19.1-acre development, which is located less than five miles from the centre of East Kilbride, will form part of the wider community growth plan for the area that intends to extend the town by an additional 2,500 homes. This will include 252 of Avant’s design-led homes, as well as a brand new primary school, five play areas, green space and retail outlets.
Avant Homes’ Jackton development will include a collection of high-quality two, three and four-bedroom homes across 17 of its popular signature housetypes.
As well as providing new homes for East Kilbride, Avant Homes will also contribute more than £6.3m towards local infrastructure including the completion of a link road between Lyndsayfield and Eaglesham, alongside investment into local education provision.
Andrew Gawthorpe, Avant Homes Scotland regional director, said: “We are very pleased to have completed the purchase on this piece of land for our latest development in East Kilbride and are now working towards preparing for the initial groundworks to commence later in the year.
“The area has become an increasingly sought after place to live for a wide range of buyers and the delivery of our high-quality, new-build homes will make a significant contribution to the area’s wider community growth plans.”
Works are due to commence later in the year, with the showhomes set to follow in May 2021. The first homes are expected to be ready for occupation in spring 2021, with the overall build taking five years to complete.
Based in Stirling, Avant Homes Scotland is part of the Avant Homes Group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK. The group currently has 60 developments across its five operating regions, 13 of which are in Scotland stretching from Dargavel Village in Bishopton to Newtonlees in Dunbar.
