SCOTTISH housebuilder Avant Homes has completed the acquisition of 15.35-acres of land at Baldragon Farm, north of Dundee, where it will deliver 120 new-build homes for the area.

Planning consent for the development was granted by Dundee City Council in August and now, following the land purchase, build preparation works for the new development will commence later in 2020 with showhomes to follow in the New Year.

Located just four miles from Dundee city centre just off Strathmartine Road, the site fulfils the council’s local development plan aspirations to deliver quality housing across several Dundee suburbs by 2029.

The new development, which will have access from St Martin Crescent, will take approximately five years to complete and will include a mixture of high-quality design-led three and four-bedroom homes across a range of Avant Homes’ signature housetypes. The first homes are expected to be ready for occupation in summer 2021 and, of the 120 new homes.

Avant Homes Scotland regional director, Andrew Gawthorpe, said: ““Baldragon is in a fantastic location and we are very pleased to have completed the purchase of this prime piece of land to bring these new homes to Dundee.

“With the acquisition now complete, we look forward to commencing build preparation works later in the year with the first homes expected to go on sale in early 2021.”

The planned development is ideally situated in a semi-rural location close to Clatto Country Park and  only 15-minutes from Dundee city centre, with excellent road links towards Aberdeen in the north, the central belt in the south and Perth in the west.
