The decision by the unnamed platform – reported by Insider – reflects a broader trend of global ticketing firms seeking to disrupt established markets dominated by legacy providers.
This expansion is expected to create new jobs in the city and foster collaboration with local venues, promoters, and event organisers.
Industry observers note that the arrival of a major overseas player could intensify competition within the UK’s ticketing sector, which has long been criticised for high fees and lack of transparency.
The Australian company’s entry comes at a time when alternative models, such as those pioneered by New Zealand’s Eventfinda and its TixSuite system, are gaining traction by offering subscription-based software and allowing organisers to retain full control over booking fees and cash flow.
