The Seventy Ninth Group, a UK-based asset management firm, has acquired a £15 million, 17.5-acre site in Drumnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness. The acquisition marks the beginning of a major development project, with plans to build over 30 luxury lodges ranging from two to four bedrooms over the next 12 months.
Jake Webster, Managing Director of The Seventy Ninth Group, spoke to BBC News about the significance of the purchase: “The Scottish Highlands, and Loch Ness in particular, have long been a top draw for domestic and international tourists seeking stunning natural beauty, rich history, and a quintessential luxury retreat. This acquisition represents an exciting opportunity to establish a premier hospitality offering in one of the UK’s most iconic regions.”
The development aligns with the group’s broader strategy to expand its property portfolio and meet the growing demand for high-end accommodations in sought-after destinations. The project will be financed through a strategic combination of investment from the founding Webster family and the firm’s established financing arm.
This latest move underscores The Seventy Ninth Group’s commitment to capitalising on Scotland’s booming tourism industry while enhancing its presence in the luxury property market.
