Argyll walking festival launches booking site

12/06/2023

THE Argyll and the Isles Tourism Co-operative Ltd (AITC) has partnered up with Cowalfest 2023 to produce a web presence for the popular annual walking festival scheduled for 12th to 16th October.

The site www.wildaboutargyll.co.uk/cowalfest has been created by the AITC to allow walkers to book their places on any of the 35 planned guided and specialist walks due to take place during the five day festival which makes a welcome return after a three year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Agnes Harvey, chair of the Cowalfest committee, commented: “We are pleased that AITC is supporting us in this way. The new website contains details of all the walks and is a vital part of our promotional activity. We hope it will prove a useful tool for people of all ages to get involved and enjoy the spectacular Cowal scenery this autumn.

“This year’s Cowalfest boasts an exciting schedule of 15 new events aimed at families providing them with something interesting during the half-term break. In addition, we have a specific adventure programme for young people between 16 to 24 so there is something adventurous for everyone to enjoy.”

Ciorsdan Fagan, AITC co-ordinator for Cowal, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to help Cowalfest with our web expertise and incorporate their presence into the new, recently launched Wild About Argyll website that boasts far more content and functionality.

“We look forward to the event becoming established once again as one of the premier walking and outdoor festivals in Scotland.”
