TWO Scottish holiday parks have been recognised as leading destinations for family stays and luxury lodge breaks at a UK awards ceremony.

Hunters Quay Holiday Village in Dunoon and Loch Lomond Holiday Park at Inveruglas – part of Cove UK’s Argyll Holidays group – won accolades at an awards ceremony organised by Hoseasons, the leading booking site for holiday parks across Britain.

Fending off competition from hundreds of other resorts, Hunters Quay was named winner of the 2023 ‘Family Fun Lodges and Parks in Scotland’ award whilst Loch Lomond was crowned champion in the ‘Lodge Escape Lodges and Parks in Scotland’ category.

The honours mark the continued success of Argyll Holidays since the company’s eight parks were acquired by international park operator Cove in February 2022.

In 2022, Hunters Quay was also named best caravan park in Britain.

Mark Seaton, Managing Director of Cove UK, said the prizes were recognition of the quality of resorts as well as the outstanding customer service provided by team members.

Mr Seaton said: “It is a tremendous achievement for both Hunters Quay and Loch Lomond holiday parks to receive these coveted industry awards.

“We have an unwavering commitment to creating unforgettable holiday experiences for our guests and we have invested substantially in these parks to ensure they remain leading destinations in Scotland.

“It is also a tribute to the team members who work so hard in Dunoon and Loch Lomond to provide outstanding customer service to those who come to visit us.

“As demonstrated from the awards, Argyll Holidays excels at providing different types of breaks whether that be for families or for those seeking a luxury escape and we’re pleased to be recognised so highly within the sector.”

South of the border, Cove’s Seal Bay Resort in Selsey won a hattrick of awards across the following categories: Customer Choice Food Award winner for Best in Britain; Family Fun Lodges and Parks in South of England; Customer Choice Food Award winner in the Family Fun Lodges and Parks in South of England category.

Cove is the UK’s fifth largest caravan park operator, with recent acquisitions including Europe’s largest park, Seal Bay Resort (formerly Bunn Leisure) in August 2019, Medmerry Park in August 2021 and Argyll Holidays in February 2022.

The company pledges to source at least 20% of produce locally, build local partnerships, and actively engage in local community initiatives. Cove UK’s Go Cove outdoor activities and environmental education programme is already flourishing at its resorts including Seal Bay Resort, Gwel an Mor in Cornwall and the Argyll Holidays parks in Scotland.

Investment in homeowners, holidaymakers and team members is a key priority for Cove UK. Its dedicated training centre, ‘Cove Academy’ has a range of tailored training and development opportunities that enable Cove team members to build fulfilling careers in the leisure industry. The Cove Academy works with local and regional skills providers and local partnerships to establish effective networks for team development and over 900 training courses were undertaken by Cove UK staff in 2022 alone.
