Set in the heart of the Cairngorms, the resort is the perfect place to celebrate the holidays with the picturesque landscape transformed every year into a magical winter setting featuring lochside paths, forest trails and scenic mountain ranges.

Throughout November, December and January, guests can enjoy an abundance of family-friendly activities – with everything from the popular Santa breaks and Christmas shopping to skiing trips and Hogmanay celebrations available on-site.

There is something for every member of the family – regardless of age or how active you choose to be – with an array of outdoor pursuits located within a few miles’ radius of Aviemore. This includes the Cairngorm Mountain funicular, Highland Wildlife Park, Loch Morlich, Landmark Adventure Park and the ever-popular Strathspey Railway steam train.

As part of this year’s festivities, Macdonald Aviemore Resort is calling on locals and visitors from further afield to share happy memories of the landmark setting from years gone by.

By adding the hashtag #AviemoreMemories, people are encouraged to share festive and winter-themed pictures and stories which celebrate the past to Macdonald Aviemore Resort’s Facebookand Instagram pages.

“We’re excited to unveil our winter programme of events, which provides something for everyone, with new additions complemented by returning favourites that stay true to the traditions that make the resort such a unique destination at this time of year.

“We’re also looking forward hearing from many of our valued customers who have visited the resort over the decades and hope to document these memories and experiences for future generations, while providing opportunities for people to create new happy memories.”

Macdonald Aviemore Resort, which was named Resort Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Hospitality Awards 2019, has long been associated with the festive season and welcomes thousands of guests each Christmas and Hogmanay.
