An American consortium, spearheaded by San Francisco 49ers executive Paraag Marathe, is in advanced negotiations to acquire a significant stake in Rangers Football Club.

If successful, the deal could bring a financial boost to the Ibrox side and potentially lay the groundwork for a complete takeover in the future.

The investment is expected to provide Rangers with vital funds, access to the 49ers’ expertise in data-driven player recruitment, and new commercial opportunities.

This could help the club close the gap on rivals Celtic, who recently reported a £44 million profit for the first half of the season and currently dominate Scottish football.

Rangers’ ownership is presently divided among several key shareholders, including former chairman Dave King (12.96%) and Douglas Park (11.54%).
