AGRICULTURAL market leader Cefetra Grain is to exhibit its innovative work in fertilisers and progress on sustainability at one of the UK’s leading annual arable shows.
Cefetra Grain, part of Cefetra Ltd, a major trader of grains and animal feed raw materials, will be among the exhibitors at Cereals at Newnham Farm in Hertfordshire on June 11-12.
On its stand this year Cefetra Grain will be displaying multi-nutrient, low-chloride fertiliser Poly4, which has been certified for organic farming and is derived from a naturally occurring mineral polyhalite. It will be mined and produced in the UK by Anglo American plc.
Anglo American will be demonstrating to show attendees the benefits of Poly4, which contains in one product four of the six essential macro nutrients which crops need to grow. The fertiliser’s benefits include crop yield, quality improvement and sustained nutrient delivery profile.
The Cefetra Grain team will also be promoting its progress in growing its origination business across the whole of the UK and how it works on building long term partnerships with its farmer suppliers. The company will also be highlighting the progress made by Cefetra Ecosystem Services, where it acts as the bridge between customers tasked with sourcing sustainable suppliers and farmers wanting financial returns for their sustainable farming practices.
Through practical advice backed with documented sustainability standards, Cefetra ensures benefits are provided to all supply chain partners by adopting a carbon programme backed by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) guidance, guaranteeing credibility.
Cereals is billed by organisers as “the premier arable event in the UK involving all parts of the industry in discussion critical to our future and designed to fulfil the needs of progressive farmers”. A regular event in the farming calendar for more than 40 years, the show provides displays of research and development, machinery and knowledge to arable farmers and agronomists.
With a team of 34 grain buyers, Cefetra Grain has seven regional offices across England and Scotland. Cefetra Ltd has an annual turnover of over £1.5bn and supplies customers in the animal nutrition, food and drink industries, handling circa 5million tonnes per annum.
Simon Wilcox, Manager – UK Farm Grain Origination, said: “We are pleased to be attending Cereals 2024 and to promote the progress we are making on innovation and sustainability.
“Cereals is a hugely popular and well attended event, so as a leading supply chain manager for grains and animal feed raw materials, we are delighted to showcase our work while meeting with farmers, leading experts and peers from across the industry.”
Cefetra Grain recently announced it has been appointed as grain marketing partner for Crop Marketing Groups Ltd (CMG) co-operative, made up of over 300 members across 10 regional groups. Farmers will be able to find out how this successful group will be working with Cefetra and how their collaborative pools marketing approach works.
