Onvoice finance provider, Advantedge Commercial Finance has appointed Paul McLachlan as Business Development Manager in Scotland.

Paul will be responsible for continuing to develop Advantedges’ growing presence in the region as the firm pursues an ambitious growth strategy.

Paul’s appointment is one part of a continuing investment programme by the firm designed to focus on being closer to local businesses in order to provide the funding support they need to grow.  Expanding the team in Scotland is an essential part of the programme with their regional sales presence also continuing to grow across the UK in the South West, South East, Thames Valley, Essex, London, Liverpool, Manchester and Yorkshire.  The firm has also been building successful client operational centres in the Thames Valley, Wales & the South West, The Midlands and Manchester in addition to Glasgow.

Paul brings with him a decade of experience spanning invoice finance, most notably within Royal Bank of Scotland Invoice Finance as well as time on the other side of the fence having ran his own business providing business support to SME’s.  During his time, he has worked with a wide range of clients ensuring that they have access to funding facilities to enable their business growth.

As Richard Walker, Regional Managing Director – Scotland comments “Scotland has a thriving business community with 345k private sector businesses and an economy that saw higher GVA (Gross valued added) growth than the UK at 1.6%.  These SMES are vitally important as they provide 1.2m jobs. With our home city of Glasgow expected to emerge as Scotland’s leading city for growth ahead of Edinburgh with above the average growth rate for Scotland and the UK at 2.6%. it’s an exciting time for the business.  Advantedge believe that Scottish businesses have a crucial role to play in driving the economy and need to maintain their focus on growing their businesses”.

Advantedge’s Scottish operation has experienced strong growth since they opened their doors just under two years ago and with a growing portfolio of clients and an ever-expanding team, the future looks exciting.

As Paul comments: “The opportunity to join a business in the sector, with such a strong commercial perspective, access to large funding pools and a commitment to delivering a market leading service, was impossible to ignore. With funding facilities up to £1.5 m available to Scottish businesses I am looking forward to supporting Scottish firms and their growth aspirations.   Advantedge are committed to delivering a locally based operation which understands local businesses and their markets.”

Advantedge, who offer a full range of invoice finance facilities to small and medium sized businesses, have seen consistent growth having already funded over £2 billion worth of invoices to British SME’s and hope to significantly increase that number as they continue to expand their operation.
