Kirkdale Nursery and Garden Centre in Aberdeenshire is set to close its doors after nearly four decades of serving the local community, marking the end of an era for gardeners and plant lovers in the region. The final day of operation is scheduled for Sunday, November 23, 2025, with a closing-down sale offering up to 70% off trees and plants while stocks last.

The owners, including Nicola, have shared a heartfelt message with customers, expressing sadness at the closure but gratitude for the support received over the years. The decision to close comes after a long period of service, with no buyer found for the business, and the owners choosing to retire.

Local residents and regular customers have expressed their sadness at the news, describing the centre as a much-loved local institution and a go-to destination for garden supplies and advice. Many have taken to social media to share memories and pay tribute to the team and the unique atmosphere of the nursery.

Owner Nicola added: “It is with great sadness that we share some news.

“After many wonderful years, Kirkdale Nursery in Daviot, Inverurie, will be closing down.

“Our closing down sale has begun, with up to 70% off a wide range of items.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all our customers for their loyal support over the years, and to express our deepest gratitude to our wonderful staff for their unwavering dedication and hard work.

“Our final day of trading will be November 23, although this may be sooner depending on stock levels.”

The garden centre is currently running a closing-down sale, with significant discounts on a wide range of plants and trees. The final day of trading is expected to draw a large number of customers hoping to secure last-minute bargains and say their goodbyes.
