McLellan Works, the new project to redevelop one of Glasgow’s most recognisable buildings, is underway.
Following recent planning permission, Breckenridge House on Sauchiehall Street will be transformed into a creative workspace for the city.
A Bywater Properties redevelopment, it is in one of Glasgow’s most exciting quarters, home to the CCA (Centre for Contemporary Arts), the GFT (Glasgow Film Theatre), Glasgow School of Art and some of the city’s newest, independent businesses.

McLellan Works holds a unique place in Glasgow city centre as one of the few remaining commercial spaces to span a whole block. With large, modern open plan spaces alongside retail and leisure spaces at street level, McLellan Works can provide small suites alongside full floor spaces, reflecting Glasgow’s demand for flexibility. This mix of retail and food and beverage businesses accommodates a work culture that often runs from breakfast through to the evening. The transformation of the interior is expected to be completed by early 2020 by which time key tenants will have had a chance to secure a space in time for the building becoming fully operational.
