An Aberdeenshire firm has continued to build upon recent momentum with the announcement of new contracts worth a combined £8million.

A provider of integrated services to the construction and oil and gas industries, eGroup recently re-branded under a new banner following the amalgamation of four separate divisions – eBlast, eClad, eFab (formerly RIM Fabrication) and eTest (formerly CSD Scotland).

The new corporate identity brings the four divisions closer together and allows them to collaborate more effectively, whilst benefiting clients through greater cost savings and project optimisation efficiencies.

Since the turn of the year, eGroup has secured several prestigious contracts – encompassing the company’s full range of capabilities and complementary services – with all work to be carried out by personnel at its Kintore facility.

The company, which employs 190 people, will provide fabrication services, erection of structural steel and cladding works for several large-scale projects across the country. This included structural steelwork for a large extension project in the East Midlands on behalf of a leading building and civil engineering contractor.

New projects secured by eFab and eClad will also see the business undertake similar works for an oil and gas services facility in Angus, a business park in the east end of Glasgow, a high school in Moray, and new school campus in Midlothian.

In addition, its eBlast division has provided specialist coating services, including surface preparation, thermal spray aluminium (TSA), passive fire protection and top sides epoxy coating, for several ‘super structures’ on behalf of two international oil services firms.

Finally, eTest has performed a range of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques for specialist subsea spools from Christmas trees and NDT and hydro testing of topside pipe spools for a new testing facility.

Neil McDonald, CEO and owner of eGroup, commented: “These significant contract awards are testament to the hard work and commitment of our staff across all parts of the group, with many of these leading clients having now worked with us across multiple projects for several years.

“The established reputations of our respective group companies for delivering large-scale complex projects remains a significant advantage and serves to enhance our new identity. The combined skills and expertise possessed by our team offers clients an unrivalled range of complementary services in a cost effective and innovative manner.

“While the north-east of Scotland remains our primary focus, we are increasingly finding opportunities to further extend our reach throughout other parts of Scotland and the UK.”

These latest contract awards follow the £1million invested by eGroupin, building improvements, new equipment and machinery, whilst the business has outlined plans to create up to 30 jobs within the next three years, including several senior posts.
